From the Station

— FROM THE STATION —

Three steps to get here without a wrong turn.

STEP

Leave the ticket gate at Takahata-Fudo Station and head for the South Exit (the side with the bus roundabout, not the side facing the temple).

STEP
02

Take the lane to the right of the roundabout

From the South Exit, go right of the roundabout, toward the shrine-approach shopping street (about 30 seconds on foot).

STEP
03

Around Takahata

— NEARBY SPOTS —

Spots around Takahata made for a stroll in kimono.

Takahata-Fudoson five-story pagoda
TAKAHATA FUDO

Takahata-Fudoson (Kongōji)

Eleven centuries of history. The family temple of the Shinsengumi's Hijikata Toshizo, and one of the Kanto region's three great Fudo temples — famous for its five-story pagoda and its hydrangeas.

SANDO MARKET

Shrine Approach & Gozare Flea Market

On the third Sunday of each month, the Gozare market lines the approach with pre-loved kimono, antiques, and local produce. Even a simple stroll down it looks wonderful in kimono.

A little further afield, Tama Zoological Park is two stops away on the Tama Monorail, and the riverside paths of the Tama River make for a lovely stroll in kimono.

Frequently Asked Questions

— FAQ —

Q.How can I pay?

A.We accept cash, credit cards, and PayPay.

Q.Do I need a reservation? Can I come on the day?

A.Reservations are generally required. For hair & make-up menu items, same-day requests may be possible — please feel free to ask.

Q.Can I bring my own kimono?

A.Of course. Please let us know in advance so we can check the fit and what you will need.

Q.Can I cancel or change my appointment?

A.Please let us know of cancellations at least three days in advance. Date and time changes are possible, subject to availability.

Q.What happens to outdoor photo shoots on a rainy day?

A.For kimono rentals, we generally ask to postpone in order to protect the kimono. If you bring your own kimono, the choice is yours — and we are happy to reschedule.

Q.Can I come with small children?

A.Yes. As a private salon, you can relax without worrying about others. A little liveliness is perfectly fine, and you are welcome to change diapers or nurse here.

Q.How long does it take?

A.Hair and make-up take about 30 minutes each, and dressing takes 30–40 minutes. The 1-Day 'Stroll Rental' also includes time to choose your kimono, and the 'Self-Dressing' experience takes about two hours.

Q.Is there parking?

A.We do not have our own car park, but there are several coin parking lots within a one-minute walk.
